Find yourself using reader.google.com and need an easy way to subscribe to feeds?

If you find yourself repeatedly visiting a website to check for updates, or if you just stumble across a page you want to keep track of, you can easily subscribe to it in Google Reader using the subscribe bookmark.

To use the subscribe bookmark, simply drag the link below to your bookmarks bar. Then, when you're on a web page, you can click the bookmark to view it in Google Reader.

Once you see the feed preview, confirm your subscription by clicking the "Subscribe" button within Reader.

[FeedBurner] A Flurry of Featurettes

Gang, more features that you should know about at feedburner.com which  make our feeds work even harder for us.  If you aren't using them, you ought to be.

As though they were still on the road to Grandma Frances' house, stuck in the back bench seat between a bunch of bullying databases and a self-absorbed older web server, FeedBurner's feature set sometimes wants to cry out, "will you stop touching me!" Alas, we continue to fuss over our constantly evolving publisher-driven offering — it can always get better. We'll call this latest round of improvements "featurettes" since they are mostly enhancements to the existing services you know and seem to like. Here is the rundown:

PingShot, now even more Ping-tacular
Last Thursday, Google launched a ping server in support of their blog search, and our busy engineers wasted no time incorporating it into our PingShot notification service. For those of you who were napping during PingShot class, here's a quick refresher. If you want ensure that Google Blog Search is indexing your content in real-time, activate the free PingShot service with a few simple clicks.

A few more recently-added PingShot-able services include Blogblogs, a search engine and social media platform for Brazilian blogs which is getting a bit of buzz as well as FeedBlitz, the email service. To activate and customize PingShot to your liking, just log in, select your feed, go to the "Publicize" tab and click the "PingShot" link in the left column.

FeedBurner Email — attract more subscriptions (and look fabulous doing it)
Never again miss an opportunity to promote email subscription. If you're using FeedBurner Email + BrowserFriendly, you now have an additional option for subscription. Behold the shiny new link in our feed.

This new link-to-email functionality makes FeedBurner Email much more versatile. Add this link to your MySpace profile, your Wordpress.com blog or your email signature, etc. Promoting subscription to your feed is super simple with FeedBurner Email. Grab the code from the "Publicize" tab.

In other email-related news: formatting in Gmail involves some additional element-level style sheet poetry, so the design team held a CSS Slam and voila. Now, FeedBurner Email looks pretty when viewed in Gmail.

New and Improved FeedFlare
The catalog of developer-inspired FeedFlare from around the world continues to grow. There are static FeedFlares, dynamic FeedFlares and FeedFlares in foreign languages. Among the list of dynamic entrants (FeedFlares that reflect real-time information) are:

Check out the full catalog (yes, this page is overdue for a touchup). If you don't see a FeedFlare that suits your fancy, build your own.

Purpose and Responsibilities

Gang,

It has come to my attention that one of two things is happening:
either
1. noone is following the rules of membership on this site and subscribing to every blog's feedburner feed
or
2. noone is opening the program/site they subscribed to those sites with

Sam Crowley had me looking at his feedburner feed for him to turn on his PingShot (do that now if you haven't already), and while I was in there I realized that noone except me had subscribed to his feed.

Folks there is a subscribe button on each posting for a new blog on this blog. This blog's purpose is to use the numbers involved in blogging with AC for each and everyone's common good. That happens when everyone listed on this blog follows the instructions and clicks that subscribe button for each and every blog listed on this blog.

Now, I can imagine that someone might not know what it means to subscribe to someone else's blog and therefore they have let fear keep them imobilized, but come on gang this is a list of positive Christian entrepreneurial men and women whom I am proud to call my friends. If you cannot subscribe to their blogs, whose can you subscribe to.

If you honestly don't know how to do this, comment on this posting and we will have a simple call to answer any questions about this.

VERY IMPORTANT: Once you have subscribed to every blog on this blog with say Google Reader, then you need to open google reader once every day. Don't worry about reading it if you don't have time, but open it so that feedburner counts you as a reader of each of these blogs.

If you don't like having to open these blogs in a reader, we can have a session where I teach everyone how to add an email subscription form to each blog so that will make it easier to subscribe to each blog. Again, comment on this posting if that is something you'd like to have.
